Jamie Foxx Returns as Electro for 'Spider-Man 3'

Jamie Foxx is reprising his role as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in Tom Holland's untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home!

Electro is a curious villain to bring back, as most fans didn't particularly love him or appreciate the fact that he was blue. However, a now-deleted Instagram post from Foxx states that he "won't be blue in this one", implying that we may see a comics-accurate green and yellow costume. It's unknown how Foxx's Electro will make the jump between universes, or if it's a similar case to J.K. Simmons, who plays a different version of J. Jonah Jameson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe separate from his Spider-Man incarnation.

Foxx joins Holland in the film, as well as returning cast members Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, and Tony Revolori.

Rumors also began swirling that Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane Watson and Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin are in talks to return, and with the continuing speculation that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will reprise their roles as Peter Parker, it looks like Scarlet Witch's actions in WandaVision are going to cause quite a mess in the MCU.

I'm excited to see Jamie Foxx try the role again in a better franchise, and I'm expecting Spider-Man 3 to be quite interesting with his addition. What do you think about Electro's return? Comment below!

The untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel releases on December 17th, 2021.
