The teaser trailer for Marvel Studios' What If...? was revealed at their Walt Disney Investor's Day presentation!
Following the trailer releases for WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, we now have our first look at Marvel Studios' first animated series. The first season of What If...? will consist of ten episodes and release on Disney+ in summer 2021, and the trailer shows off various scenarios that we will see play out in the series.
The first episode will see Peggy Carter taking the super-soldier serum and becoming Captain Carter, while Steve Rogers steps into a bulky suit of powered armor built by Howard Stark. Other episodes will see T'Challa become Star-Lord instead of Peter Quill, Doctor Strange meeting the Watcher, who narrates the series, while fighting an evil version of himself, and Bucky Barnes facing a zombie Captain America.
This series looks like a fantastic exploration of alternate realities in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it inspired the LEGO Ninjago project that I'm developing with Tongal and The LEGO Group! I can't wait to see what could have happened to the MCU, and I'm thrilled that What If...? has already been renewed for a second season.
What If...? begins streaming exclusively on Disney+ in summer 2021.
